Few holidays are as important as my birthday, my half birthday, Christmas, and National Tequila Day. Now, if you're saying to yourself, "self...only one of those days is a holiday" then you're absolutely right. National Tequila Day is the most important holiday if you're a true NTC fan. So I decided to bless you all with what I'm sippin' on today...and yes, I made it myself. Finally my wallet gets a little break from going out...constantly. But we don't judge here. That's the beauty of being part of the NTC family.
So what did I make in the comfort of my own home? A Habanero Aloe Margarita, silly, what else? Fine, that wasn't an obvious answer but it's a drink I made 4 years ago when I used to bartend part time to pay my way through graduate school (Sallie Mae is my unrequited bae now). But it was definitely a crowd pleaser so let me share a simple DIY version with you.
I used:
3 oz of Stirrings Organic Margarita Mix
1 oz Agave Habanero Tequila
1 tbsp aloe vera juice
Optional: garnish glass with aloe plant wedge and habanero pepper
I shook it up with some ice, strained it and poured it into a chilled glass and that's it! So simple. So amazing!
You don't have to be a professional bartender to make something amazing. Stop resorting to whatever juice is in the fridge and that vodka that been in your pantry for 2 years every time you want to make a good drink at home.
