Nail the Cocktail's Ultimate Boston Spicy Drink Guide (Spring 2018)

I don't know what's come over me but if you give me a spicy drink, it's going down the hatch in 0.6 seconds. Spicy margaritas, spicy mules, spicy cocktails period. Send them my way bartender! I've compiled a list of my top spicy drinks to try RIGHT now in Boston..this very second or tomorrow if you absolutely have to wait. So in no particular order here goes:

1. Engine 18 from The Industry

This drink is for those of you who like that feeling of heat on the back of your tongue. It's made with Don Julio, serrano peppers, lime juice, agave syrup, and a cayenne pepper salt rim. I have this saying that goes "it's strong enough to put some hair on your chest". The Engine 18 does just that. It separates the women from the girls and the men from the boys. Don't @ me if you start sweating. I warned you in advance. This bad boy is for those of you who like to play with fire and taste the heat.

2. Bad Juju from Stephanie's On Newbury

If you actually watch my Instagram stories, you already know my obsession with this drink. I order it every single time I walk through the door at Stephanie's. Sometimes, I don't even have to say what drink I want...they know. This beauty is as spicy as its name suggests. Shes the bad b**ch of the bunch. It's made with Ghost tequila (ghost pepper tequila), strawberry puree, house agave sour mix, and a tajin rim. If your lucky your's will be topped with two peppers (I always ask for the extra one). Because spice.

3. Infernal Sunshine from Article 24

If you're looking for a spicy drink that is also ridiculously refreshing. Stop right here: I've found it for you. This is made with tequila, elderflower, habanero sugar, lime, strawberry, and cucumber. If you take a sip, close your eyes, tilt your head back and hallucinate, it will feel like you're actually on vacation in the Bahamas. Now, if you don't want to look crazy, order this along side anything on the menu or just have a liquid brunch, lunch, or dinner. We don't judge each other here.

4. Blood In Blood Out from Alibi

Disclaimer: if you don't always ask waiters and waitresses for hot sauce with your meal or you wouldn't eat a jalapeno for $3 and a free drink you can't handle this one. If the above sounds like you, make your way over to Alibi. This has your name written all over it. It is truly spicy, not "spicy." It is made with Milagro Tequila, blood orange, thai chili shrubs, hanabero, pomegranate, and lime. That's three types of peppers if math isn't your strong-suit. I hope you don't sweat easily.

5. Mi Paloma from Rail Stop

Let's get one thing straight: if the garnish on this drink scares you, this entire blog post is not for you. Stick to the jolly rancher cosmos and cotton candy you're used to. This is made with Herradura Blanco, grapefruit soda, lime, and jalapeno salt. Extra points if you eat the garnish. That means you can sit with me at the bar. I slide all the garnish off and muddle it into the drink with my straw because that's exactly what Chuck Norris would do. Looks alone should sell you. The taste will just blow your mind after.

6. Skinny Diablo from Mastro's Ocean Club

This one is for all my skinny and/or health conscious broads across the city. The name says it all, its a skinny devil. It's made with Don Julio Blanco Tequila, agave nectar, lime juice, fresh jalapeno and red bell pepper. This drink was made for patio season and crop top loving queens. If you haven't had a drink with bell pepper in it yet, you are actually missing out. It's one of the most underrated and flavorful drink ingredients in the game. There is no way you'll finish this drink and not want another

Are you a restaurant with a spicy drink on your menu you think is worthy of the list? Are you a cocktail fan who has had a bomb spicy drink recently? If so email me at nailthecocktail@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram so I can try it and add it to the list if I'm impressed!
